Narrative Proposal

I would like to write my narrative about the National Honors Society induction ceremony during my senior year of high school.  NHS was my biggest academic accomplishment throughout high school and I worked very hard to get there.  One of my most embarrassing moments occurred during my NHS induction ceremony, and I was mortified.  After this experience, I learned to laugh at myself.  Although it was embarrassing, I will always remember that experience.  The audience I have in mind is whoever wants to learn more about myself, and values I believe in.

  1. Ok, so it might be good to pair this experience with a few others to demonstrate some sort of change or growth on your part, especially if you want to show how you learned to laugh at yourself. I mean, you could show a time earlier where you were working hard but were no fun. In which case, the NHS event works great for that b/c its simultaneously your moment of success and you learned something unexpected with it. If you need to run any more ideas by me for this, feel free. Approved.

  2. I think I want to change my topic. I want to write about my family tradition at Christmastime, which is our Christmas tree hunt. Family is very important to me and we have different traditions that have shaped my life. We've been going on the tree hunt every Christmas for as long as I can remember. The audience is the same, but I want to make the point that my family has shaped who I am and how going to college really makes me realize how important family is.
